Anita had her grandparents stay with her over the summer

 

We went down to Christchurch to collect Granny and Granda from the airport. Granny and Granda had come from Northern Ireland. It took us 8 hours to drive to Christchurch. When we got to Christchurch, Granny and Granda were already at the hotel.    

Before we went to see Granny and Granda, we went to Rosemarie's for dinner. After dinner, we went to the hotel to see Granny and Granda. We went into the hotel and Mum went to the person at the reception. She asked the person where Alex and Ann Thompson were. He looked on his computer but he didn't find them. He said there wasn’t anyone by that name staying at the hotel.  So me Dad and my sisters sat in the waiting room while mum went to ring Granda. But he didn't answer after Mum rang 2 more times but he didn't answer. 

Then mum had an idea she went to talk with the person at the desk again and she said “Do you have any other Thompsons staying at the hotel”.  

The man said there was, but not the name Ann.  Mum remembered that Granny’s full name is Elizabeth Ann Thompson. So, she asked the man if that was the name and he said “Yes”.  He told mum they were in the restaurant. So we went to meet them there.  We got big hugs!
