Ocean and Skye walked up Mount Manaia

Radek's Magic box poem

I will put in the box

The first smell of my Grandma's cake when it comes out of the oven.

The noise of the birds fluttering through the trees.

The music of the cicadas in the gum trees and their fluttering wings.

I will put in the box

The first drop of rain hitting the surface of the dark Lake.

The first blow of wind on a dark summer night

A kittens first meow on the brightest day

I will put in the box

The sound of a cheetah running through the grass

The shining light of a lighthouse

The dark footstep on a creaking floor

The colour of glistening sand on the biggest beach

I will put in the box

The coldest snow from the highest peak

The hottest fire from the coldest depth

fairies that are as small as a ant

My box is fashioned from fire and water and dragon breath,

with leaves on the lid and logs made to not break in the corners.

Its hinges are made from  beetle’s wings.

I shall surf in my box

In the sky as high as i can fly

I will land softly on a dark smooth lake

Where the fish jump over you as you paddle ashore

Eva's Magic Box poem

Eva, Arend and Marijn did the Old Ghost Road hike. They hiked for 5 days and 3 nights. Check out their amazing photos.

Check out Ashley's entries into the Aorere Flower Show. Wow! So many first places.

Betsy has a giant weta on her hand. It is a female because it has an egg depositor. It does not bite and it felt tickly.
